Thomas Waterman Huntington (1849-1929) was born in Rockford, Illinois on January 16, 1849. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1871 and from Harvard Medical School in 1876. He moved to Sacramento California, where he became chief surgeon of the Central Pacific Railroad in 1885. He was appointed professor of clinical surgery at the University of California Department of Medicine in 1899, retiring as professor emeritus in 1912. Later in life he was the chief surgeon of the ...
